CEO4.0: Research project on new leadership models to bridge economy and ecology

The ENABLE Network (European Network for the Advancement of Business and Landscape Education) asked us to participate in their research project since 2021 on new leadership development for ecosystem restoration.

ENABLE is a strategic partnership of renowned partners including academic partners, private businesses, the public sector, and NGOs that is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European UnionENABLE aims to explore innovative ways to bridge economy and ecology.

We interviewed various academic and professional experts to create a needs assessment and theoretical framework for future development of trainings and (post-academic) educational modules.

Revision of ENABLE MOOC: Business Model Innovation for Sustainable Landscape Restoration

We revised ENABLE’s interdisciplinary MOOC, "Business Model Innovation for Sustainable Landscape Restoration," for an improved individual learning experience. Learners no longer rely on peer review and have a better match with content and assessment.

In the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) “Business Model Innovation for Sustainable Landscape Restoration, learners stake a partnership approach and make a bridge between ecology and economy. Learners get to design their own innovative business model for landscape restoration with 4 returns: return of natural capital, return of social capital, return of inspiration and return of financial capital.

In this MOOC, learners focus on the potential of business model innovation for the challenge of large-scale landscape restoration. Once enrolled, learners move from ideation towards successful implementation. Each step is illustrated with three real-life cases of landscape restoration in Spain, Iceland and Portugal.
